Polewali does not feature in many travel guides. A good place to stay is the Lilianto Hotel, on the road coming in from the south. Attached Western-style bathrooms with hot shower, and good, free wifi, in the rooms. All this for around 300,000 Rupias. And there is a quite acceptable restaurant with Indonesian fare, as part of the hotel complex, too.
Incidentally, a few hundred meters further north is another, equally new hotel, of which I don’t remember the name, which seems to have a swimming pool, even. Possibly worth comparing with the Lilianto, and walking distance even with suitcases.
