From Osorno we continue south, checking out another scenic route which ultimately leads to the Carretera Austral, via Puello. It is a bit repetitive, more lakes, more volcanos, but scenic it is. There are few villages, few opportunities to eat, until we reach Cochamó, at the edge of Estero Reloncavi, a fjord in connection with the open sea, with the Yates volcano in the distance. Once more a spectacular view, once more helped by spectacular weather. Cochamó is really small, but cute, with its wooden church and several wooden houses. Outside, and all along the fjord, is the equipment of the aquaculture industry, most likely growing the salmon which is on every restaurant’s menu.
Not much to write about, but plenty of photos again.
